FOLLOW  THE  STEP-BY-STEP, LONG DISTANCE,
DESIGN  OF  THIS  CUSTOM  LOG  HOME and
PREPARATION  OF  THE  CONSTRUCTION  DRAWINGS.

In March of 2000, Greg and his wife drove over 200 miles to visit our model log home (Sandy's Joy) in Fredericksburg, VA.  Impressed with what they saw, they started with the model's floor plan and modified it to fit their needs. Using the computer and fax machine to design their dream log home and prepare the construction drawings. This is their story:

After answering a few questions, Greg's first faxed sketches were enough for us to quote a log home kit price.

After receiving the quote for the log kit, Greg faxed the following
modified floor plan.

Using AutoCAD LT, we now begin the design work.  Rather
than attempt a complete log home floor plan immediately,
we do it in sections.

There are several ways to design the hallway from the great room to the
guest bedrooms and bath.  We fax Greg three options:

And so the correspondence continues until the final floor plan below
met with the approval of Greg and his wife Chris.
Total lapsed time from start to finish, about three months.
