What is in our log home kits? - You will find our list of materials in the column "LOG HOME KIT COMPONENTS." However, B and H supplies the log and beam components only.
What is not in our log home kits? - Keep in mind, as stated on our QandA page, if you can buy it locally it is not in our log home kits. 2x4's, plywood, windows, doors, plumbing, electrical, HVAC and shingles are examples of standard building materials which are available locally and, therefore, are not in our kit. Why does B and H supply only the log and beam components? Obviously, sending standard building materials (along with the log and beam components) is convenient for the log home buyer. However, on the down side, when the windows, doors, shingles arrive with the log and beam components (frequently as many as three tractor trailer loads at once), these materials must be protected on the job until they are needed - sometimes months after delivery. Then there is the question of cost compared to local purchase. Then there is the potential problem of "midnight requisitions."

EXPLANATION OF OUR LOG HOME KITS COMPONENTS
Construction Drawings – Five sets with details.
*Log Walls – Post and beam log wall system 8 feet high (unless otherwise stated), pre-cut to fit your foundation, windows and doors. Including: tongue and groove "D" logs machined from Northern White Cedar 6"x 6", 3"x 6" Cedar up-rights, 8"x 8" Cedar corner posts, spiral spikes to assemble walls, sealant foam, SikaFlex caulking, Cedar trim caps to cover up-rights and band boards (except under decks). Cedar trim caps to trim windows and doors (in log walls) inside and out.
Shiplap Siding – Machined from Northern White Cedar, identical in appearance to the log walls.
Following shipped in either White Pine or Spruce – Ceiling joists, 4"x8". Ridge beams, 6"x6". Porch and house rafters, 4"x6". Joist blocking, 4"x 8". Porch plates, doubled 4"x6".
Porch posts – 6"x6" Northern White Cedar.

OPTIONS AVAILABLE - unless included above.
OlyLog fasteners or 3/8" lag bolts for assembly of log walls.
White Cedar logs machined from 6"x8" timbers.
1"x6" and 2"x6" tongue and groove paneling.
